Square-Enix RPG beats Microsoft’s Crackdown to claim top spot in the UK charts.

There’s a duo of new releases at the top of this week’s UK all format Chart Track listings – with Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XII sweeping in at number one and 360 action title Crackdown taking second spot.

Square’s triple-A title becomes the fastest-selling release in the franchises’ history in the UK, accounting for a huge 53.5 per cent of all full price PS2 sales this week. Crackdown becomes the fourth fastest selling Xbox 360 title behind Gears of War, PES 6 and Call of Duty 3.

Alongside the duo of new releases, EA has a strong presence in the chart, with four titles in the top ten.
