Activision reveals new-look PR team

Activision has significantly strengthened its UK and Euro PR teams, with three new recruits.

Craig O’Boyle joins as director for European public relations. He replaces Nick Grange, who left the firm for Apple in April.

O’Boyle joined the publisher in August and has worked in PR for ten years, including stints at agencies such as Bite Communications and Ketchum’s Global Brand Marketing Practice. He has worked on brands such as Apple, Facebook, Playfish, MTV, Samsung and Channel 4 and will report to Activision Blizzard’s VP of European marketing and shared services, Ian McGregor.

Supporting O’Boyle is EA Games’ former UK PR manager Sophie Orlando, who takes a new role as senior PR manager for Europe. Orlando has worked on products including Battlefield and Medal of Honor and is now tasked with promoting Call of Duty and Skylanders.

Finally, Activision’s Lucy Donald has been promoted to head of PR for UK and Ireland. Donald has been at Activision for three years and has worked on brands such as EA, Vivendi and Microsoft.

Donald, who will report to O’Boyle, is responsible for Activision’s three-strong PR team which now includes a new hire, Karen Ward, who has joined the team as PR manager. Ward previously worked in PR for THQ, Sega, Samsung and Xbox.
