EA still developing Wii U titles, says CFO

EA is still developing games for the Wii U, according to EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen – just not as many as they are for Xbox One and PS4.

Polygon reports that Jorgensen stated as much during the Stifel Nicolaus 2013 Internet Media and Communications Conference, which would seem to contradict EA spokesman Jeff Brown’s recent statement that the company doesn’t have any games in development for Nintendo’s console.

"We are building titles for the Nintendo console, but not anywhere near as many as we are for PS or Xbox,” Jorgensen said.

"I think what the consumer will find is a lot more powerful gameplay with the new boxes that are coming out, and a lot of excitement, but it’ll remain to be seen as to the services associated with those as to how consumers decide which direction they might want to go."

EA previously announced that Wii U releases for both Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14 would be left out; FIFA specifically due to ‘disappointing’ commercial results of FIFA 13 – one of the console’s launch titles.
