Batman: Return to Arkham HD collection delayed

Warner Bros' Batman: Return to Arkham HD collection will not be hitting its July release date.

In a post on the publisher's community forum, a member of Warner Bros staff, Steve Grayson, announced that the title had been delayed indefinitely.

The reason for this is apparently to give Virtuous Games more time to put the final touches to the game.

A Batman Arkham HD collection was long-rumoured and was eventually officially announced in May. It comprises of 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum and its sequel, Arkham City, released in 2011. It was initially set for a July 29th release date.

Return to Arkham's delay follows the launch of Batman: Arkham Knight, which launched with crippling bugs on PCmany of which will never be fixed.

A Batman VR experience was announced on-stage at Sony's E3 press event.

After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience,” Grayson wrote.

We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.”
