Dark Souls Board Game passes £3.5m as it enters final stretch on Kickstarter

It was after just 50k. Now the creators of Dark Souls: The Board Game have seen their funding pass the 3.5m mark as the venture reaches the final few hours of its Kickstarter.

Funding currently stands at 3,564,906 with four hours to go. And that total is raising every minute, despite the fact that the now cheapest backing tier costs a not inconsiderable 80.

Interestingly, from the start the campaign has had just two backer tiers – one for individuals and one for retailers. The product’s incredible faithfulness to its source material is most likely its strongest asset, however.

The Steamforged Games Design Team have been putting their heads together and have decided to celebrate the record-breaking success of this Kickstarter project (and due to popularity during this Kickstarter) by confirming the Core Game will additionally come with a free scenario-driven Campaign Mode where your level of success would continue on from one game to another,” the latest update reads.

We’re pretty excited about this, but what makes this even more exciting is that we want to work with you guys. We want to utilise our amazing backer community, to make these scenarios as intriguing and challenging as possible. We want to hear your ideas for the flavour/tone/setting of your scenarios.

Then let us know what mini, main and mega bosses would feature. What enemies, invaders, summons and challenges would be met along the way along with what treasure, weapons and armour could be found.”
