Download the Splatoon demo and get a 10% discount on the game

There’s a Splatoon demo hitting Wii U this weekend, and downloading it will net a financial reward.

The digital version of the game will cost 34.99 when it’s released on May 29th. However, those who access the taster will have that price reduced to 31.49 – that’s a ten per cent discount.

There is a further complication, however – the demo will only be playable at select times, all of which take place this Saturday (May 9th). There are three one hour slots – 4am to 5am, 12pm-1pm and 8pm-9pm.

The demo will also be limited to the 4-on-4 Turf War mode.

Further details of the game were also announced this afternoon. It will launch with five stages, with new stages to be added every few weeks”. New game modes will also be added post-launch followed by a ‘major’ update in August which will add additional matchmaking features.

Nintendo has also started taking pre-orders for three Splatoon Wii U Premium hardware bundles. There are two available for 259.99, each of which includes the game, console and Splatoon Amiibo. An Amiibo-less version is also up for pre-order at 249.99. All three SKUS also come with an official guidebook.
