FIFA 17 tops monthly UK console digital charts again

Another month, another No.1 for FIFA 17.

Once again, EA's football behemoth has topped the monthly console digital charts in the UK, generating 6.92m in revenue in July. Sales for the title were down 16 per cent month-on-month though, as other titles in the Top Ten grew.

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V kept its second place, with revenue reaching 5.09m – a slight 0.5 per cent increase compared to June. Same story goes for EA's Battlefield 1, which remained at No.3 but experienced a small 0.5 per cent boost in sales, with revenue now reaching 3.78m.

The biggest growth came from No.4 though – Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Activision's FPS gained two spots to No.4, following a 93 per cent growth in sales. Two other entries in the Call of Duty franchise also made it to SuperData's digital Top Ten in July: Infinite Warfare re-entered the charts at No.7, generating 1.07m in revenue, while Modern Warfare: Remastered debuted at No.8 with 0.80m in revenue for its first month as a standalone title.

Overwatch also had a pretty good month, with revenue now reaching 1.43m compared to 1.26m in June, which represents at 13 per cent increase in sales.

As a consequence, Activision Blizzard came closer to becoming the No.1 digital publisher in the UK based on this Top Ten, with overall revenues for the month reaching 5.45m, compared to 3.3m only in June. However, EA remained at the top spot, with revenues across its titles in the Top Ten reaching 10.7m – a 17 per cent decline month-on-month.

Activision's Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which made a brief appearance in the Top Ten in June, didn't manage to reach the digital charts again though, despite impressive sales at retail.
