Gfinity to host UK leg of Halo World Championship

Gfinity will host the online qualifiers and live finals of the Halo 5 UK Championships in December and January as the first series of the World Championships begin.

The eSports organiser will be using their online tournament system to hold qualifiers on December 20, and January 3, 6 and 10 to decide who will make it to the live event at their Fulham Broadway arena.

The qualifiers will account for 42,000 points to be distributed to winners of each ladder, which will determine the 16 teams to appear in the live finals January 15-17.

The finals, which will be the first live event of the Halo World Championship 2016, will have a 10,000 prize pool and places in the EMEA regional finals for the top three teams.

After making it through regionals, the final event offers a total prize pool of $1.7m, thanks to $700,000 of community contributions through the in-game REQ purchasing system.

March 1-20 hosts the finals after teams from across Asia, Oceania, EMEA, Latin America and North America qualify through their respective regional events.
