Gone Home console ports cancelled

Award-winning PC indie game Gone Home is no longer in development for consoles, developer Fullbright has confirmed.

Gone Home creator Steve Gaynor stated as much to Eurogamer, explaining that Fullbright’s deal with struggling publisher Majesco and its now presumably defunct indie publishing arm Midnight City has come to a close without results.

Our publishing deal with Majesco has ended, and the console version is not in active development,” Gaynor said.

The partnership was to bring Gone Home to unknown consoles, with Wii U later revealed as one of the intended platforms for the port. The game is still currently available on PC, Mac and Linux platforms.

Gaynor added that Fullbright will work on new content rather than continue down the porting avenue moving forward, as the company now shifts its focus soley on the development of its upcoming title Tacoma – currently in the works for PC, Mac and Linux.
