Monster Hunter World release date confirmed for January 26th 2018

Capcom's Monster Hunter World will release worldwide on PS4 and Xbox One on January 26th 2018, the publisher has announced, with the PC release to follow at a later date.

The news comes straight out of Tokyo Games Show, which kicked off this morning with a press conference from Sony. Pre-orders for Monster Hunter World also open today, with several pre-order bonuses to get stuck in with for both the standard version of the game and the newly-announced digital deluxe and physical collector's editions.

In Europe, players who pre-order the PS4 or Xbox One versions either digitally or physically from participating retailers will get access to a special armour set and a unique talisman, which will give players improved starter stats and an extra gathering skill. Digital pre-orders on the PlayStation Store will also come with a custom PS4 theme.

The digital deluxe edition, meanwhile, includes a copy of the game and additional customisable options that can be used in-game – a Samurai Skin set, three gestures, two sticker sets and an extra face paint and hair style option for the hunter. The PS4 version also includes 14-weapon themed PSN avatars.

The physical collector's edition (above), on the other hand, includes a a physical copy of the game, everything in the digital deluxe edition, plus an art book, a monster statue and a soundtrack CD, all of which will be presented in a custom collector's box. Exact pricing has yet to be announced, however.
