Nintendo Direct returns this week

Nintendo is holding its first Direct broadcast since the passing of previous president Satoru Iwata this Thursday (November 12th).

The publisher revealed this via Twitter. The Nintendo UK and Nintendo of Europe Twitter accounts (below) indicate that European boss Satoru Shibata will be hosting the broadcast.

It’s not clear whether he is also hosting the American stream or whether US boss Reggie Fils-Aime will be handling the broadcast on the other side of the pond.

This is the first Nintendo Direct broadcast since Satoru Iwata passed away as a result of cancer of the bile duct in July of this year. He became famous as the company’s public face, and played host to its Nintendo Directs.

Tatsumi Kimishima was named as Iwata’s successor earlier this year.

This will be the first Nintendo Direct since its E3 broadcast. Before that, the platform holder held a special ‘Splatoon Direct’ in May.

This Nintendo Direct will be taking place on Thursday November 12th at10pm GMT.
