Nintendo Switch UK livestream dated for 4am January 13th

Nintendo has finally set a date and time for its upcoming Nintendo Switch presentation in the UK. The press will be going hands-on with Nintendo’s new Switch console on January 13th in the UK, but those wanting to watch the livestream at home will have to set their alarm clocks for 4am the same morning.

Announced this morning on Twitter, UK viewers will have to tune in rather early if they want to hear all the latest details about Nintendo’s latest console. Specifically, we’re expecting Nintendo to announce a price and official release date for the console, as well as its line-up of launch titles.

Since this is a global livestream, those watching in the US have it slightly easier, as the time difference means the US livestream will start at 8pm PT or 11pm ET on January 12th. In Japan, the livestream will take place at 1pm on the 13th.

So far all we know for certain about the Switch comes from Nintendo’s three-minute reveal video released in October. The Switch was also shown off during The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallonearlier this month where we got to see The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild running on Nintendo’s new console for the first time.

There has, however, been a smattering of speculation beyond that. For instance, it seems that the console will launch for just 199.99, with reports also pointing to the possibility of a 249.99 SKU. It has also been suggested that a new Mario game and Bethesda’s Skyrim will be launch titles. Another report suggested that the Switch might finally start bringing GameCube games to the Switch’s Virtual Console.

However, it is also believed that Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not be ready in time for launch.
