The European and American versions of Wii U horror game Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water will have a big visual difference compared to the original Japanese release.
The existing version of the game (known as Fatal Frame in other territories) sees its female stars dressed in next to nothing, with players even able to reduce their already skimpy clothing until they’re effectively in their underwear.
Now Destructoid reports that the Western version has replaced these risqu outfits with costumes based on two classic Nintendo characters – Metroid’s Samus Aran and Princess Zelda.
The decision, which is certainly morally correct, will undoubtedly help Nintendo avoid some unwelcome controversy. It will, however, have to endure criticism from some fans who will inevitably accuse it of censorship.
Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water is out in the UK on October 30th.
