PS4 was the most popular console on eBay on Black Friday in US

A PS4 was sold once every 20 seconds on eBay throughout Black Friday in the US last week.

Polygon reports that this made the machine the best-selling console for the day, ahead of the Xbox One, which sold at the rate of one every minute – that’s three times slower. The hard to find NES Classic sold at one every two minutes.

However, by the time Cyber Monday had rolled around, things had changed. By then Xbox One was selling at the rate of one every 15 seconds and the PS4 had slowed to one every 30 seconds.

Overall the Xbox One was estimated to have sold around 33,000 units on eBay between November 15th and 22nd. The PS4, meanwhile, shifted 27,000 units and the NES Classic 20,000.

Over the Cyber Weekend, eBay was the destination for some of the best deals and selection for video games, consoles, and accessories,” eBay’s GM of deals Jesse Kiefer said.

Beyond seeing hot inventory like the NES Classic Edition and the PlayStation 4 Slim continue to trend, on Black Friday our Xbox Live 12 Month Gold Membership deal sold every six seconds and a Sony Dual Shock 4 Wireless Controller was among our top five selling electronics.”

Nintendo added that it is working hard” to try and produce enough NES Classic to fulfil demand, with a steady flow” of stock promised for Christmas.
