Wasteland 2 also coming to PS4

Apocalyptic crowdfunded RPG Wasteland 2 is headed to PlayStation 4.

The version hitting Sony’s hardware is a Game of the Year Edition.

Developer InXile Entertainment took to the PlayStation Blog yesterday to break the news.

The game is coming to PlayStation 4 thanks to Unity 5, which was released earlier this week. This engine also allowed InXile to give the title a visual overhaul, meaning PS4 gamers are getting improved character models, upgraded environments and more realistic lighting effects.

This follows the announcement that the cult RPG title would be coming to Xbox One as part of Microsoft’s ID@Xbox scheme.

"With Wasteland 2, it was our goal to deliver our fans a game they wanted, and we were honoured byPC World’s Game of the Yearendorsement along with all the other accolades we received," InXile line producer Eric Schwarzsaid.

"With the Game of the Year Edition, we are totally thrilled to be able to bring that same hardcore gameplay to the PlayStation crowd in a bigger and better way this late summer 2015."

Wasteland 2 has certainly been popular on Steam, generating$1.5m in sales in its first four days on sale. On Kickstarter, the game made $2.933m.
