Banner Saga 3 Kickstarter campaign is now live

Stoic has announced that its Kickstarter campaign for Banner Saga 3 is now live. The studio is hoping to raise $200,000 over the course of thirty days to help fund development for the final instalment in its award-winning turn-based strategy series.

We’re going full circle and returning to Kickstarter where it all began," said John Watson, co-founder and technical director at Stoic.

"In 2012, the backers were instrumental in bringing the saga to life, smashing our initial funding target that led us to increase the scope, fidelity and production values of Banner Saga. We’re proud to be indie, and despite the stellar support we get from our publisher, Versus Evil, we’re not taking any outside funding to bring this series home, we’d love Kickstarter support to add additional features that are simply beyond our current budget”.

In Banner Saga 3, players will finally learn what lies beyond the wall of Darkness that’s been plaguing the lands of Rundwall and Stromlund since the very first game in the series. The game will once again utilize Stoic’s stunning hand-drawn artwork to transport players to its gorgeous Viking-inspired world of giants and undead Dredge, and player choice will play a vital role in the fate of its expansive cast of characters.

Stoic has also said that if the game exceeds its initial funding goal, its stretch goals will aim to enhance the game further by adding even more content to the main story as well as allowing the studio to lavish higher production values upon the final product.

Players new to Banner Saga will also get both the first and second game in the series by pledging an additional $20 onto their chosen Kickstarter tier. Once the campaign closes, backers will be able to add them to their Pledge Manager at this discounted price on either Steam or GOG, offering a substantial saving over the current Steam and GOG prices.

Banner Saga 3’s official launch date has yet to be announced, but Kickstarter pledges will be fulfilled by December 2018.
