Codemasters has announced a third instalment in the Cannon Fodder series is currently in the works.
Russian studio Game Factory Interactive is developing Cannon Fodder 3 for PC and Xbox 360. It will be the first new entry in the popular series since 1994’s Cannon Fodder 2.
The game puts players in charge of a band of ‘cannon fodder’ soldiers and pits them against an international military alliance. The action takes place across several battlefields around the world and even in space.
GFI is promising a classic isometric perspective, but with the benefits of 3D models, weather effects, destructible environments and more.
There is no word on a release date, or whether or not Cannon Fodder 3 will be a digital game or boxed product. MCV has contacted Codemasters for comment.
