Epic Games Poland reverts to People Can Fly, studio goes independent again

People Can Fly is an independent game developer once again, having officially parted ways with its parent company Epic Games as well as shedding the Epic Games Poland moniker.

The studio is responsible for developing Gears of War: Judgment, Bulletstorm and the Painkiller titles, along with contributions to Infinity Blade 3, Unreal Tournament and other unrevealed projects. The team has Unreal Engine-powered projects already underway” and will continue development support on Epic’s Fortnite.

We, as a People Can Fly team, are extremely excited about new possibilities ahead of us,” studio director Sebastian Wojciechowski said.

We’re going to work on a new game, while continuing to partner with Epic and use UE4. We’re grateful to Tim and the whole Epic team for our long and successful collaboration.”

We’ve been honored to work with this brilliant group of programmers, artists and designers throughout their history: first as a partner using the Unreal Engine, then as a studio within Epic, and now once again as an independent company,” Epic Games founder and CEO Tim Sweeney added.

People Can Fly formed in 2002, rebranding as Epic Games Poland in 2013.
