Free-to-play F1: Online now in open beta

F1: Online, the official free-to-play browser-based Formula 1 game, is now out of closed beta and available to all players.

Developed by Codemasters, F1: Online features the drivers, teams and cars from the 2011 Formula 1 season.

Featuring a top-down perspective, F1: Online’s gameplay mostly makes use of the mouse for acceleration, braking and steering. Like the console and PC titles, the browser game also offers a variety of driving assists and incorporates the KERS and DRS systems.

Aside from all the official tracks from the 2011 season, F1: Online offers a variety of custom tracks and also lets players create their own teams. You can design car liveries, emblems and build your own team HQ, which can be gradually upgraded and used to research new car components.

The game features time trials with leaderboards as well as a Championship mode and competitive multiplayer.

Head over to the game’s website to try it out.
