Kojima sets 2018 Death Stranding release date, scoffs at Metal Gear Survive zombies

Death Stranding, the first game from the new Kojima Productions, could be out in 2018.

That's if Hideo Kojima's hints are accurate, and his development schedules uncharacteristically tight. IGN reports that Kojima said at the Tokyo Game Show not only that the game would be out before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but that it would be out before the year in which cult anime Akira was set – which is 2019.

Kojima also said that the game would have a female protagonist, starring alongside Walking Dead's Norman Reedus.

A separate IGN report from TGS quotes Kojima as saying that he had no creative input in Konami's in-development Metal Gear Survive.

The developer even went as far as to mock the premise, stating: The Metal Gear games are about political fiction and espionage. Where do zombies fit in with that?”

Although we seem to recall a few zombies from Metal Gear Solid V, no?

Oh and a shout out to PCGamesN's headline on this: Creator of weaponised bees and photosynthesis women says zombies don't fit Metal Gear Solid.” Bravo.
