Mamba merges with Lace Group

Mamba Games has announced a partnership with Lace Group to create a new global video games publisher.

Publisher Mamba and UK distributor Lace will now trade as Lace Media Group, and will handle acquisition, product development, in-house development, UK and global sales and distribution, marketing and PR as one entity.

LMG will operate from its head office in Brighton, as well as other offices in London, Los Angeles and Paris. The merger brings the new company closer to its plans of moving into the new markets, with titles already in development for Xbox 360.

The formation of Lace Mamba Global is massive step for Mamba Games and we are delighted that this will give us the next step needed to move into next generation and become a real player,” said Jason Codd, commercial director of Europe.

Lace Group are the largest DVD distributor in the UK. They have masses of experience and a terrific team. This merger can only be positive and we have been impressed by the visions they have for the video games market.

Bringing together the two teams to create a large organisation will allow us to fulfil our ambitions and we are already planning our PS3 and Xbox 360 development strategy for 2011.

We will still be independent and look to work with studios of all sizes but of course with the financial investment, we now have substantial budgets to work with and we will be carefully selecting the products that we feel will work in our schedule.”
