Virtual reality specialist Oculus is taking new steps to attract smaller developers to its Rift platform.
As part of its pre-E3 press conference, the company said that it would be pouring an additional $10 million into ‘accelerating’ support for indie studios working on content for the VR headset. (via Polygon)
Oculus currently hosts the Oculus Share website, which serves as a form of library for developers to offer their games, ‘experiences’ and other applications for the Rift.
No further detail was given on how the money will be utilised within the independent community.
Other news to emerge from Oculus’ event included the firm’s partnership with Microsoft for Xbox One games, the bundling of an Xbox One controller with the consumer release of the Rift and the reveal of the Oculus Touch motion controls.
