CBS is making a Candy Crush TV show

Turns out that Candy Crush is still incredibly popular. So popular that US TV network CBS has decided to turn it into a TV game show.

In the show two teams of contestants will compete to progress through giant interactive game boards. This will apparently take an entire hour, until one team becomes the winners and takes home some kind of yet to be announced prize.

Other than that there isn’t too much news on the show itself, the specifics of the game (on the show, not Candy Crush itself) have not been revealed and neither has a host or a prospective broadcast window.

We do however know that Lionsgate and King will be working on the show, with Matt Kunitz who is best known for Wipeout and Fear Factor coming on board to help out as well.

We are huge fans of Candy Crush and, like so many others, we know the ‘rush’ of advancing to the next level of the game,” said Glenn Geller, President over at CBS Entertainment. We’re excited to work with Lionsgate and King to adapt one of the world’s most popular and entertaining game franchises for television and make it available to its massive, passionate fan base who can watch and play along at home.”
