Video game-focused charity Child’s Play raised a record $7.6m for children in hospitals and domestic violence shelters last year.
The now decade-old charity announced the figure was raised through various events and fundraisers (both official and community-driven) over the past year – beating 2012’s total of $5m by a considerable margin.
With the $7.6m accounted for, the charity’s lifetime total now stands at more than $25m raised.
Child’s Play recently expanded its support network beyond hospitals, opening a pilot proram in Washington state to provide games for children in domestic violence shelters. The organization plans to expand the program across the US this year.
