IGN partners with Twitter for E3 2017

Media company IGN has announced that it will be Twitter’s official livestream broadcast partner for E3 2017 in June.

A week’s worth of live online programming will kick off on June 10th and run until June 15th. Shows will broadcast directly from the expo floor and from IGN’s LA Studio.

The schedule includes the big press briefings from Sony, Microsoft, EA and Ubisoft, along with pre and post show commentary. Also planned are live interviews and eSports competitions.

There will in total be over 30 hours of live coverage.

Being on Twitter, IGN will also incorporate Twitter polling and live Q&A questioning.

"Our gaming audience turns to Twitter every year to discuss what’s happening at E3," Twitter COO Anthony Noto said. "We are excited to partner with IGN, an industry leader in gaming coverage, on these unique broadcasts that will bring live video and the related conversation all to Twitter."

IGN’s SVP of video Wade Beckett added: "E3 is hands-down the biggest week of the year for video games. With jaw-dropping announcements and new game reveals, Twitter is the perfect livestream partner and platform given our global audience and their passion to be part of the conversation. Gamers around the world are going to be the real winners thanks to our partnership.”
