LEGO Star Wars manages fifth week at head of the UK charts

Warner Bros’ latest LEGO title, The Force Awakens, has claimed its fifth consecutive No.1 since launch.

In doing so, it is neck and neck with LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes as the LEGO title with the most consecutive weeks at the top of the UK charts. LEGO Batman 2 managed that feet in 2012. And The Force Awakens being a Star Wars title it wouldn’t be surprising to see it spend another week on top.

The game saw a one per cent sales increase week-on-week. In fact, every game in the Top Ten saw their sales rise for the period. Price activity on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End helped the game rise four places to No.2 with sales increasing 94 per cent, while Grand Theft Auto V sales increased 37 per cent and it moved one place to No.3.

FIFA 16 fell two places to fourth position, yet sales rose 20 per cent. Likewise, Overwatch dropped to No.5, but sales increased 14 per cent.

The biggest increase in sales, however, was Ratchet & Clank, which shot up 23 places in the charts with sales rising 143 per cent. It scraps into the Top Ten at the bottom of the chart.

Just missing out on the Top Ten was Pokmon Alpha Sapphire. Sales increase 95 per cent week-on-week and it charts at No.11.

Since Pokmon Go launched in the UK, the game has seen constant sales growth. Sales increase 145 per cent in the week ending July 16th, when it debuted in the UK, with the game returning to the Top 40 the following week.
