Oculus Touch controllers cost $199, will launch on December 6th

The Oculus Touch controllers will add a significant amount to the overall cost of Facebook's VR system.

Coming in at $199 and launching on December 6th the Oculus Touch controllers will finally allow the Rift to do room scale VR and have a more interactive input method.

Pre orders for the controllers open on October 10th, with the initial bundle including two Touch controllers, two games to try them out with in the form of VR Sports Challenge and The Unspoken and a second camera needed to track the controllers.

Annoyingly that $199 bundle won't quite be enough to get room scale VR, like the HTC Vive has been capable of since day one, working for the Oculus. In order to do that you will have to purchase a third sensor, which will set you back another $79 and will be available alongside the controllers on December 6th.

The news came out of the Oculus Connect 3 keynote, along with news of lowered system requirements for the Rift. Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey was absent from the keynote after he was found to be financing pro Donald Trump memes.
