Oculus won’t block porn on Rift headset

Virtual reality firm Oculus says it won’t be blocking porn on its Rift VR headset.

That’s according to Oculus founder Palmer Luckey, who – as reported by Variety – on stage at the first Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Conference was asked if the firm had any plans to block X-rated content or apps.

Luckey responded thus: The Rift is an open platform. We don’t control what software can run on it. And that’s a big deal.”

Earlier this month, Oculus revealed that the Rift would miss its 2015 release window, and will instead be coming out and shipping to consumers in Q1 2016.

Over the weekend, the Facebook-owned VR company also confirmed the PC specifications required to run the Oculus Rift.
