YouTube cancels Scare PewDiePie premium show

After being dropped by his network Maker Studios, PewDiePie has run into trouble with YouTube itself.

That’s according to Variety, which reports that the video platform has cancelled the second series of the star’s – real name Felix Kjellberg – premium $10-a-month reality show, Scare PewDiePie. This was hosted and funded via YouTube’s Red service.

Furthermore. YouTube has removed the ‘Google Preferred’ mark from the personality’s channel, a sign of ‘brand-safe’ content.

This follows the decision by Disney-owned Maker Studios to drop PewDiePie following him paying two men to hold a sign above their heads saying ‘Death to all Jews’ in a video.

Kjellberg has apologised via a post on Tumblr, in which he claims that this was merely a prank to show the absurdity of the internet service Fiverr, via which he paid for the stunt.

Though PewDiePie has been dropped by Maker, the star actually launched his own video network, Revelmode, at the start of 2016.
