Nexon is taking legal action against three gamers accused of using cheats in its online FPS Sudden Attack.
Kotaku reports that the trio are accused of obstruction of business” as their actions – both in the game itself and in distributing the cheats – hurt the title and, by extension, Nexon itself.
Players who use hacks to cheat in online games are normally confronted with a ban of their account. This appears to be the first instance of legal proceedings being issued against cheaters, although the logic that it damages titles is technically sound.
Should Nexon prove successful then there's every chance that other publishers and developers could follow suit.
