VIDEO: Just how big are the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus?

If you’re planning on upgrading to the latest iPhone later this month then you’d best be comfortable with holding a bigger handset.

While the iPhone 5’s 4-inch screen remains an appealing selling point for many, the market has shifted towards bigger handsets and while Apple has resisted this trend until now, last night’s reveal of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus represents a change in strategy.

The 4-inch iPhone 5C and 5S will remain available but the new device comes in two flavours – the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the whopping 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus.

Both will go on sale in the UK on September 19th, with pre-orders beginning this Friday (September 12th).

On a contract-free basis the iPhone 6 will cost 539 for the 16GB model, 619 for 64GB and 699 for 128GB. The iPhone 6 Plus costs 619 (16GB), 699 (64GB) and 789 (128GB).

Note there is no 32GB option for either device.

For an idea about their size here’s a hands-on video from Engadget.
