AMD partners with Square Enix Collective for new customer program

AMD and Square Enix have announced a new partnership that will see the hardware manufacturer promote the publisher's indie itles to new customers.

The program, entitled AMD4U, will provide AMD consumers with a range of games from Square Enix's indie publishing unit, the Square Enix Collective. The aim is to drive awareness of AMD's new product line-up as well as provide technology and hardware support for the publisher's upcoming indie titles.

Key aspects of the partnership include direct participation at AMD's consumer events around the world, as well as hardware, software and engineering support, as well as extended marketing partnerships with AMD's OEM partners who have signed up to the AMD4U program, such as Dell, Alienware, HP and Lenovo to name just a few.

Anyone purhcasing an AMD-powered PC from these OEMs will also have the ability to validate their hardware and receive up to three free games from the entire Square Enix Collective portfolio. These include Black the Fall, Children of the Zodiarcs, Deadbeat Heroes, Tokyo Dark, Oh My Godheads, as well as upcoming titles Fear Effect Sedna and Battalion 1944.

Battlation 1944 in particular is being developed by Bulkhead Studios using a combination of AMD's new Ryzen 1800X CPU and Radeon Vega graphics cards.

Crucially, the offer only extends to AMD-powered PCs, not individual graphics cards or CPUs, and other offers are available alongside the partnership with Square Enix Collective. For instance, buyers may also choose to redeem a two-month complimentary subscription for Adobe's Creative Cloud service, or a three-month complimentary subscription to Abode's Creative Cloud Photograph plan.
