Future Samsung TV’s will have the Steam Link built in

Valve's Steam Link device will be built into future Samsung TV's, removing the need to buy an extra piece of hardware to stream games to your living room.

The Steam Link box allows you to stream PC games to a TV via your internal network, making it easy to play Dota 2 on the big screen with the family. Being built into TVs will make this even easier and free up an extra HDMI slot.

Of course users will still need a beefy PC and a controller in order to stream the games to the TV, and probably a wired internet connection, as the Steam Link's performance when using WiFi is less than ideal at times.

The news was announced at Valve's Steam Dev Days event, and reported on by Steam Spy. Valve also used the event to announce that there is over 10,000 games on Steam, and that native Dualshock 4 support is coming to Steam. The Dualshock 4 can currently be used with PC games, however the lack of official support from Valve made button mapping a bit of a pain. This new native support will allow for simple button mapping and make it easy for developers to support the Dualshock on PC.
