Gfinity blows away targets with 58m viewers in 2015

British eSports organiser Gfinity has recorded 58.5m online views of their 2015 Championship Series, exceeding first year targets of 50m.

The Gfinity Series, comprised of 23 weekly tournaments since March, was played across five eSports titles at the company's dedicated eSports Arena in Fulham, London.

September's series finale, held at EGX in Birmingham's NEC, drew 8.75m online viewers alone, as four of the top CS:GO teams competed over a $100,000 prize pool.

Chief Executive of Gfinity Neville Upton said: "We are very pleased to have exceeded our target of 50 million views for the series, demonstrating our ability to attract the best players and talent and stage top quality eSports events. We look forward to continuing our rapid growth, within the fast developing global eSports industry and delivering equally compelling content and events in the future."

Online broadcasts of the CS:GO, StarCraft 2 and Hearthstone tournaments regularly achieved hundreds of thousands of unique concurrents, as they were broadcast in 10 languages to more than 25 countries.
