Satellite Reign breezes past Kickstarter targets, hits stretch goals

The ‘spiritual successor’ to cult hit Syndicate is in rude health.

Just early last week there were fears that the game could miss its 350,000 Kickstarter target. It then went on to reach the goal just three days later.

Yesterday the game’s Kickstarter came to a close at an impressive 461,333. When the studio’s separate PayPal donations are added in we get a grand total of 475,755.50.

This allowed the game to hit its first four stretch goals, meaning it is now on track to include localisation in six languages, environmental destruction, additional factions and districts and the talent of composer Russell Shaw and writer Russell Zimmerman.

A huge thank you to everyone who pledged so generously and put time and effort into spreading the word and providing feedback on the forum’s email and comments. We read it all, sometimes twice!,” 5 Lives Studios stated.

Once we’re set up and settled we’d like to do a bit of a meet and greet for anyone in the Brisbane area or nearby who’d like to pop in, say hello and meet the team. It’s our way of saying thank you and letting you all know that you’re as much a part of this as we are.

We want everyone who’s backed us to get involved. We’ll be organising the backer surveys to send out over the next few weeks and setting up the backers-only forum so everyone can jump in and have their say. We want the community involved in everything, from choosing T-Shirt designs and the look of the elite backer skins, to directly contributing to the design of logos and signage in the game, propaganda slogans and more.”

Satellite Reign is due out on PC, Mac and Linux some time late next year.
