Valve has announced a partnership with UOL BoaCompra to allow Steam users to pay for products with Brazilian currency.
To start only Boleto (billing slip) will be accepted as payment, though other local methods are planned in the coming months including deposits, account transfers, and local credit cards.
The addition of support for payment methods in Brazil follows in Steam’s efforts to make payment simple for users everywhere,” read Valve’s official news post.
Valve has also revealed the kicking off of the Steam for Linux beta. The company’s request for participants last week resulted in over 60,000 applications, with a significantly smaller number pulled from that group for the first round of testing.
