Tempo Storm to purchase Dream Team’s NA Challenger Series slot

Dream Team is selling its place in the North American League of Legends Challenger Series to Tempo Storm.

A report from ESPN's Jacob Wolf first broke the news, with theScore eSports later confirming that the deal is in place.

According to Wolf the deal is worth roughly six figures”, with Dream Team's owner Neil Bhasin telling theScore that this only includes the slot in the Challenger Series and none of the existing contracts for the team.

Tempo Storm is now looking for members to fill the team and the support staff around it, back at the start of the month they were publicly searching for managers and coaches for a Challenger Series team.

This if of course not the first time that Tempo Storm has tried to enter League of Legends. They have previously been interested in buying a LCS slot when both Renegades and Team Impulse were forced to sell up, however both times they failed and have now settled for a Challenger Series team in the hopes of getting promoted to the LCS.

Dream Team have been in the Challenger Series all year, after acquiring the Astral Authority roster in January. They have failed to qualify for the LCS, and were almost relegated from the Challenger Series in summer. Of course with no player contracts being transferred to Tempo Storm this will have little impact on the new venture.
