Terraria has officially launched for Mac and Linux, with both clients offered for free to owners of the Windows edition of the game.
Re-Logic kicked off an open beta test for the new platforms just a few weeks back, and a post on theTerraria forumsconfirms their full release.
The now definitive PC version of the indie hit includes cross-buy and cross-save features. Those who already own the game on Steam, now have it for Mac and Linux – and full SteamPlay support means Windows users can continue games on either of the other two operating systems.
The new platform arrivals follow the release of Terraria’s 1.3 update, which – according to Steam’s charts – has driven a significant spike in PC sales for the 2011 release.
Terraria is still in development for anearly 2016 releaseon Wii U and 3DS. It’s also currently available for PS3, Xbox 360, Android and iOS.
