Terraria arrives for Mac and Linux platforms

Terraria has officially launched for Mac and Linux, with both clients offered for free to owners of the Windows edition of the game.

Re-Logic kicked off an open beta test for the new platforms just a few weeks back, and a post on theTerraria forumsconfirms their full release.

The now definitive PC version of the indie hit includes cross-buy and cross-save features. Those who already own the game on Steam, now have it for Mac and Linux – and full SteamPlay support means Windows users can continue games on either of the other two operating systems.

The new platform arrivals follow the release of Terraria's 1.3 update, which – according to Steam's charts – has driven a significant spike in PC sales for the 2011 release.

Terraria is still in development for anearly 2016 releaseon Wii U and 3DS. It's also currently available for PS3, Xbox 360, Android and iOS.
