The Bard’s Tale IV hits $1.25m Kickstarter goal

Inxile’s latest Kickstarter effort The Bard’s Tale IV has surpassed its $1.25m goal with weeks to spare.

The upcoming game’s Kickstarter page currently displays more than $1.26m pledged from nearly 28,500 backers. All that, and the project still has 24 days until its conclusion – plenty of time to reach the campaign’s various stretch goals.

On the 30th anniversary of the original, it’s so exciting to know we’ll be making a long-awaited true dungeon crawl sequel,” Inxile CEO Brian Fargo said.

Once again the support of our fans has blown us away, and we will put all our effort into making this the RPG they want and deserve, just as we did with Wasteland 2 and are doing with Torment: Tides of Numenera. Our fans prove once again that the classic single player cRPG genre is far from being dead, long live the RPG!”

The Bard’s Tale IV will be a PC-exclusive when it arrives on Steam and GOG. Fargo originally announced a 2015 release window for the game, but that was before a Kickstarter was ever mentioned.
