Bits + Pixels acquires worldwide licensing rights to Ultra Ultra’s Echo

Licensing agency Bits + Pixels have picked up the worldwide licensing rights to Danish indie studio Ultra Ultra’s upcoming game Echo.

The third-person sci-fi adventure is due for release in Q3 this year on PS4 and Steam after being Greenlit on the latter in 2016. The game takes place in a futuristic neo-classical infinite palace (as you do), and players take on the role of En, a girl who finds herself trapped in this place that’s continually generating enemies based on how you play. Running round the palace will make these so-called ‘echoes’ move faster, while a stealthier approach will make them harder to detect. They’ll also mirror the types of weapons you use, too.

Bits + Pixels co-director Su-Yina Farmer commented: We were instantly grabbed by Echo’s stunning and unique visuals, the more we learned about the premise and story, the more we loved what Ultra Ultra were trying to achieve. It has already created quite a stir within the video game community. This is a world which players will want to experience long after the game has ended and we can’t wait to work on targeted brand extensions that will allow that to happen.”

Martin Emborg, game director at Ultra Ultra added:Bits and Pixels immediately got us, and our ambitions with Echo. Their approach is always focused on complimenting the experience of the game, and to take that experience into new, and often times unexpected, arenas. We share an affinity for the unconventional, and I couldn’t be more excited about the things we’re seeing on the horizon.”

Bits + Pixels was also recently signed by Capcomto work across its European portfolio, including itsResident Evil, Street Fighter and Monster Hunter series, and in our recent interview with the agency it said it also wanted to get Overwatch merchandise into supermarkets.
