Fans to decide FIFA 17’s cover star

EA is letting its players choose which football player is going on the cover of FIFA 17.

The publishing giant is opening voting today (Wednesday, July 5th); polls will be closing on July 19th. Four options are available to consumers – Reus, Hazard, Martial and Rodriquez.

This isn’t the first time that EA has let its fans have a say in the cover of its football behemoth. Last year, while Messi was front and centre on the box art, the secondary player was voted for by fans and different across regions. In the UK, Henderson joined Messi.

James, Martial, Hazard, and Reus represent exciting, attacking football and epitomise the innovative play that fans can expect in FIFA 17,” FIFA senior producer Nick Channon said.

We’re excited to see fans rally around their favourite players and see who they select as the cover star for the franchise, and the footballer who will represent FIFA 17 globally.”

FIFA 17 is set for a September 29th release, and in a franchise first features a story mode. In an interview with MCV, Channon said that Story Mode the biggest new addition to FIFA since Ultimate Team. EA has also announced that this year’s football title will be running on Frostbite, not Ignite.
