Gears of War Ultimate Edition hitting PC in early 2016

We’ve known for a while that Microsoft’s re-jig of Xbox 360 shooter Gears of War was coming to PC. What we don’t know is when it’s coming.

And we still don’t. However, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said that the current Xbox One exclusive will be arriving on computers in the early part of 2016. The same timing also applies to fighting title Killer Instinct.

The PC release of Gears of War will feature some PC-specific upgrades such as 4K resolution support, an uncapped framerate and support for DirectX 12.

Gears of War, by Epic Games, was originally released in 2006. The Xbox One Ultimate Edition was released last August.
