Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst pushed to June

EA's first-person parkour title Mirror's Edge Catalyst is being moved out of its May release window.

This delay was announced via a blog post on the game's official website from design director Erik Odeldahl. The title is being pushed back two weeks from May 26th to June 9th in Europe.

The reason behind this setback is addressing feedback from the game's closed beta. An open beta is launching shortly.

A sequel to cult hit Mirror's Edge was long-rumoured. Developer DICE confirmed that a new entry in the series was coming and would be called Catalyst at last year's E3.

The first Mirror's Edge has sold over 2.5m.

'To support the Social Play features, we are using a brand new online technology," Odeldahl said.

"We also want to make sure we have the opportunity and time to address player feedback from the Closed Beta. That is why we will give ourselves a bit more time to perfect the game, with a new release date for Mirror's Edge Catalyst of June 7th (NA) and June 9th (EU).We're confident that these extra two weeks will make sure the game is as amazing as possible for you the players."
