Sony is bringing its PlayStation streaming service to PC.
Starting today, PlayStation Now – which allows users to stream hundreds of PS3 titles for 12.99 a month – will be available for the PC and Mac in the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium. A wider European and US rollout will follow soon.
Then on September 15th Sony will release an official wireless dongle that will allow gamers to hook up a DualShock 4 controller to their system. Many people already use DualShock 4s on PC, but this official method might avoid some of the complications that can be encountered. It also unlocks the use of the pad’s more advanced functionality like the touchpad and lightbar.
The setup will also allow for the streaming of PS4 games to a PC, although PC Remote Play has actually been available on PC and Mac for a while.
PC users will need Windows 8.1 or above, a 3.5GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8GHz AMD A10 or better, 2GB or RAM and a 5Mbps internet connection.
