‘Plenty of chance’ Halo 5 will come to PC, says head of franchise

The core Halo series could return to PC in the future, according to the director for the franchise at 343 Industries.

Frank O’Connor was discussing the possibility of Microsoft’s flagship shooter expanding beyond its Xbox home on a GamesRadar livestream when he suggested upcoming entry Halo 5: Guardians could come to Windows 10.

There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on the PC,” he said. Nothing to announce at this point, but it’s absolutely within the bounds of reason.

The last Halo game of any kind to come to PC was this year’s twin-stick shooter spin-off Halo: Spartan Strike, which followed its fellow multi-platform predecessor Halo: Spartan Assault.

However, the last instalment from the core line of first-person shooter titles to land on Windows was 2004’s Halo 2. The port of the original Xbox game was exclusive to Windows Vista. The first Halo: Combat Evolved also came to PC.

Another spin-off, the real-time strategy sequel Halo Wars 2, will be released on both Windows 10 and Xbox One next year.
