Sony announces new Glacier White PS4 Slim

Sony has announced a new colour variation for its PlayStation 4 Slim – which has now become the standard version of the console. Called ‘Glacier White’, this new variation will launch in Europe, Japan and Asia starting later this month.

Europe will be the first region to get this new Glacier White PS4, as it will launch on January 24th for 259, with a 500GB HDD. Two versions will be available in Japan: one with a 500GB HDD (29,980, which is about 212 before adding on VAT) and one with a 1TB HDD (34,980, about 250 before VAT), which will both launch on February 23rd.

Japan will also get Glacier White DualShock 4 controllers that will be available as a standalone purchase, and an additional ‘Green Camouflage’ version of the controller. The latter will launch on March 9th.

There’s no word of an American launch yet, or whether the PS4 Pro will get the Glacier White treatment as well.

Sony announced last week that it has sold 6.2m PS4 units over the festive season, bringing total sales to 53.4m worldwide.
