Assassin’s Creed beats Mario Odyssey to claim No.1

Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed Origins has prevailed in the battle with Super Mario Odyssey to claim No.1 in this week’s UK charts.

Origins’ week one sales are about level with 2015’s AC Syndicate, although revenues are higher thanks to the addition of some higher-price SKUs.

Mario Odyssey comfortably beats the week one number of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to become the Switch’s biggest UK week one. It also betters the week one performance of every Wii U title, becoming Nintendo’s sixth biggest ever UK launch.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus emerges in fourth spot, while last week’s No.1 Gran Turismo: Sport slips to fifth. Destiny holds tight in seventh thanks to a boost from its PC release, while South Park: The Fractured But Whole falls five places to eighth. Middle-earth: Shadow of War slips four spots to claim ninth while there’s a six place drop for WWE 2K18 in tenth.

Just Dance 2018 debuts in 23rd – Wii was the leading platform for the game.

Here’s the UK Top Ten in full for the week ending October 28th:

  1. Assassin’s Creed Origins (Ubisoft)
  2. Super Mario Odyssey (Nintendo)
  3. FIFA 18 (EA)
  4. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (Bethesda)
