Assassin’s Creed Unity sneaks back up UK charts as Call of Duty ties FIFA 15’s top spot record

Ubisoft has once again placed three titles in the UK retail Top Ten, as an Assassin’s Creed Unity promotion saw the game rise four spaces.

The Top Three games in the UK remained unchanged last week, with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare once again taking the number one position, according to the latestUkie Games Charts, compiled by GfK Chart-Track.

This means that Activision’s shooter has spent the same amount of time in the top spot as EA’s fellow blockbuster FIFA 15 – eight weeks.

The latter game similarly clung onto third place, with Grand Theft Auto V sticking in second.

One big change in a week bereft of new Top 40 entries was the resurgence of Ubisoft’s Parisian stealth-action title Assassin’s Creed: Unity.

Unity saw sales shoot up by 25 per cent last week, following a retail promotion where the title’s average selling price fell by 5 from 32 to 27.

This resulted in the game jumping four positions to number four, ahead of the Xbox and PlayStation editions of block-building hit Minecraft at five and six, respectively.

The former retained its placing from the previous week, while the PlayStation version climbed three places, despite a six per cent drop in sales.

While Advanced Warfare cleaned up the top spot once again, fellow Activision shooter Destiny also saw success.

Sales of the sci-fi hit rose 15 per cent, leading the title to jump three places into number seven – its highest position so far in 2015.

Rounding out the Top Ten was Ubisoft open-world racer The Crew, up from 11th place the week before, meaning both Activision and Ubisoft had three games a piece.

  1. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Activision)
  2. Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar)
  3. FIFA 15 (EA)
  4. Assassin’s Creed: Unity (Ubisoft)
  5. Minecraft: Xbox Edition (Microsoft)
  6. Minecraft: PlayStation Edition (Sony)
  7. Destiny (Activision)
  8. Call of Duty: Ghosts (Activision)
  9. Far Cry 4 (Ubisoft)
  10. The Crew (Ubisoft)
