CFO Mark Gifford to leave GAME in March

GAME chief financial officer Mark Gifford resigned earlier today, the High Street retailer announced.

Gifford will leave the company at the end of March 2018 to “ensure a smooth transition,” the official announcement said. It added that Gifford was leaving to “focus on his other business and personal interests” and that the company has started looking for a replacement.

Gifford joined GAME back in October 2015 after 13 years as CFO at House of Fraser. He was instrumental in transforming the retailer’s activity, moving away from traditional retail and into gaming entertainment such as Belong arenas.

GAME CEO Martyn Gibbs said: "I would like to thank Mark for the significant contribution he has made to our business. Mark has worked incredibly hard to create a solid platform, from which we are transforming GAME. All of the team would like to take this opportunity to wish him the very best for the future."

Gifford added: "The business has achieved a great deal in the last two years and I have enjoyed being a part of the management team at GAME. I shall be working with the company to ensure a smooth and effective transition as the group continues to drive its competitive gaming and esports strategy. I would like to wish GAME and all of the team the very best for the future."
