Indie hit Firewatch surpassed the 1m sales mark "sometime late last year".
That's according to developer Campo Santo, who announced the milestone yesterday afternoon via Twitter (below).
The game launched on February 9th last year, outselling Campo Santo's ‘wildest expectations'. Within its first month on sale, the indie title shifted 500,000 units. Furthermore, it recouped its development cost in its first day on sale.
The title was close to the 1m sales milestone when the news of a film adaptation was announced last September.Bad Neighbours and Oldboy studio Good Universe are helping give the title the silver screen treatment.
MCV spoke to the developer a few months after launch, with Campo Santo composer Chris Remo saying that the studio was interested in releasing a physical edition of Firewatch.
Sometime late last year we sold our one millionth copy of Firewatch. Thank you all so much! pic.twitter.com/7LSTqWuU8Q— Campo Santo (@camposanto) January 3, 2017
